SO So FUNNY!!

I think it is so funny how just last month I was thinking how just bite me in the butt cannot stand protective styling and there is no way that I can hide my hair to get to waist length by a year or two years time. I love my curls too much for all that hiding. HAHA. I have been in so much pain and been laying around in the bed all of December that it has become very easy to protective style my hair. Ponytails and oils have been my best friend and only style for this month and at this rate I don't see me moving from this depression anytime soon. I wonder what my fate for next month will be and I would love to see how much retention my hair ends up with by the time the winter is over since they tell me this is gold. "I'm so excited!!! and I just can't hide it, I'ma bout to lose control and I think I like it." LOL

Yeah, so this one right here is new to my collections of hair oils. I used to use this oil years and I mean years ago for a lot of years but it was the one with mineral oil added to it. It still has that very same loud smell I remember and I think it will work just as fine as always. I may not be able to use it as much because it would make my hair get too straight and it is one of those oils that will clog my pores much faster than say castor oil or coconut oil which is why I have been able to use them with my curly styles with no problems. But during my down time I will try using this Amla oil again just while I am wearing the ponytail and sleeping cap most of the time.

Nupur came in the mail and of course I could not wait to do the treatment on my hair. Drum roll PLEASE!!! I love it, I love it, I love it... It was like the greatest thing. I know I have to wait some time to see how my hair reacts to the herbs but so far so good. It also gave me a orangesh red color but I am ok with that. Really I thought it was going to be darker like brown because of everything that was mixed in there with the henna, so it was a good surprise.

So yeah, even though my curls are taken a break right now it still is not getting us down. So hold your hair up head, they have not beat us yet. We will take the pain blues, winter blues in stride.

You know my saying!!! Love your hair and it will love you back ladies!!

My Hair Has The Winter BLUES!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I am just getting home from the hospital where I had a 4 day stay. Just like in September I had some numbness in my mouth and also this time my throat felt like it was closing up on me. Well I am home now and they are looking into what they think is going on but during my stay my hair oh my hair, it was missing it's products. I didn't bring anything with me because I thought I would be going home the next day. The only thing I could do was take my wet hands to run it through my hair and detangle with my fingers. I would try to do that every day so that it would stay moist. I could not wait to get back home so that I could co wash my hair and do my wash n go. I oiled my hair with vatika and did my scalp with jamican black castor oil. now all this week I have not been doing anything but sleeping most of the week now my hair is in a bun. I can tell you this when I wash my hair I feel my hair down my back again in the shower. It must mean that my hair is growing back since I had to do such a big trim the beginning of November. It felt so short after that and I thought it would take so long to get it back but what a difference a month and a half makes.

Ok moving on, we are now in the dead of the winter and when I thought there would be nothing that could take me away from my old favorite wash n go how about the lazy dayz have kicked in and the only thing I want to do is hang around in the bed and sleep on and off and I sure am not doing that with my hair out. So in the sleeping cap it goes and it stays. Like I said I make sure that I detangle with my hands and moisturize it every night and even tonight I put shea butter on the ends.

On to something new, next henna day I will be trying this new mixture well maybe not new to all but new to me. Here are the ingredients:

Product Description

I am dying to use this product on my mother's hair as well. From what I have read about this herbal mix it has everything that we have been using in our hair one by one and I was just thinking about mixing somethings together so that I could shorten the steps. Never knew it was already done for me and that my fellow hair forum ladies have been using it all this time. They all love it so I thought what the heck I need to give this a try. The only thing is I don't know what it will be like as far as color is concerned. So I will have something to tell you about in about a week or so, can't wait to tell!!! ha ha

Do remember ladies to love your hair and it will love you back.

LAZY LAZY LAZY DAYZ

Well this past week I was not feeling good so my hair was just in a wet bun everyday. OMG!!! when I had a terrible migraine about a week ago, it still didn't stop me from doing my wash n go's. It is so funny that now when I am like this close to my worst pain ever in my back the wash n gos's didn't go they went..... With the migraine I held my head up with my hands to make sure I did not crush my curls until it was dry. LOL...
Hey!!! Do you think when I finally look up from my total rest my hair will be to my waist? LOL!!!! Just a thought...

My trustie tools are Dabur Vatika Oil, I use from the roots to the ends and

The Jamaican Black Castor Oil to massage on my scalp but you can also use it for sealing your ends with, it certainly is thick enough for that job so lets not forget about

Shea Butter which will do trick also. Throwing a little Argan oil in the mix on the length of the hair and as a massage oil.
This down time is allowing me to baby, baby my ends. My pain is so bad right now, I really do not care that I am wearing a bun every single day which you know I cannot stand. All I do is just rinse my hair with water in the shower and oil it again then put the bun right back in. I also love my new sleeping cap and it is working so well in place of what I was using before which I wore the heck out of. So once the bun is tied up and under I just put the sleeping cap on and don't have to worry about how my hair is being snatched or not snatched off my head from the friction of the cotton fabric on the pillow but can worry more on getting comfortable in the bed.

I am a true believer that you have to protect your hair especially when you have those down out lazy dayz, can't get out the bed dayz. Silk or satin will do the job just fine especially before that day comes you are unable to move and really your hair is the last thing on your mind. But because the night before you made sure you tied your hair up correctly with the correct fabric no worries. If you get in the habit of taking care and hiding your hair at night it could be a good habit that save's you from losing your hair at night. Of course after doing this for dayz in a row my hair will become straight which I don't care about but I will still co wash some of those dayz I'm being lazy only because I will end up with too much build up on my scalp. My scalp is sensitive to oil or grease and always had to wash 2 or 3 times a week for fresh fly hair.

Remember ladies Love your hair and it will love you back.

Broke Down....Gave In...

This is the color I am waiting for!!

So I broke down and gave in, applied henna to my hair last night and washed it out about 4am since I stay up all night I have decided to do my hair at night so I don't have to sit and wait for my hair to dry and I can enjoy it more during the day light hours. You know how sometimes you say you are going to do something but it just don't work out that way? Well this is one of those times. Henna is just one of those things that keep calling your name. Once you get the real taste of it there is no going back. When I say the real taste of it I mean that there are still a lot of people that really don't know what henna is. So they go to the store and see a box on the shelf and it says henna so it must me be, right? There are so many things that one should learn about henna and where it comes from and what it is used for and how it only comes in one color before they attempt to use henna. I learned the hard way and lost my hair because of it. And what I mean by lost my hair I had to cut off so much length because I was just grabbing any old thing that said henna in the grocery store. Because it wasn't sifted and because there were metals in the ones I was using it damaged my hair instead of healing it as henna can do.

This is what henna should look like. No sticks and no gritty dirt feeling. Just nice smooth feeling to it when you touch it.

This is the henna that I use now. Learning about a product is your best lesson if you really want to do something new to your hair. Not just listening to what others say to you about this and that because everyone hair is different and everyone is going to have a different result. Where did they get their information from? That goes for anything, research it yourself.

Henna For Hair is a great book to read if you would like to learn about henna and where it comes from. This book help me to be able to start all over again and this time do it right. Henna will also loosen the curl pattern in your hair and just because your hair is not grey you will still get the benefit of the gloss and shine that henna gives to the hair.

The end result is that you have soft, glossy hair to the touch. I co-wash my hair to get the henna out and then I deep condition my hair once I am finish but I don't use shampoo at all. I may shampoo my hair before applying the henna but if I don't, I make sure that my hair is wet and it maybe just a apple cider vinegar rinse because it is much easier to apply the henna to wet hair.

There are other things that you have to learn about henna as far as preparing it and leaving it over night before application and how long to leave it on the hair before washing it out. The link that I placed in this article will point you in the right direction to begin your henna journey. We will talk about henna again but I just wanted to update you on what I did through the wee hours of the night LOL.

Love your hair and it will love you back.

My New Sleeping Cap

OK this is just going to be a very quick review. I just received my new sleeping cap from blendedbeauty.com and I have to say that I really like it. I really beat up my silk one and I use it a lot for when I henna my hair so it has henna color all over it and it don't make for a nice clean look. I would have gotten another one but every time I went back to that website they were out of stock.

OK here it is. It has a drawstring at the top so that you can make it as tight or loose as you need it to be and the elastic is not annoying which is the problem that I have with some sleeping caps. I cannot stand feeling the elastic around my head which is why I cannot do the baggy method too much over night. Which is really a bummer.

Keeping Up with the Jone's

Every since I started my journey I have been trying to figure out what would work for me and how can I get that nice flowy hair down to my butt in a fast way. I jumped on the Mega Tek and jumped on the sulfur band wagon and what I found is neither one of them was for me. My hair does not like protein and to my surprise it doesn't like sulfur. What did all that get me? it got me split ends, rough ends and ends I had to eventually cut off. Which meant I lost length and that was the last thing I was trying to do.

Don't get me wrong I am in no way saying that these things are bad for you, I am saying that they didn't work for me. You need to find out if what everyone else is doing to get the results they are getting with their hair will work for you and I found out that they didn't work for me. And since these set backs I have decided to start with a hair calendar as I may have said already and I will be trimming my ends every 6 months. I am hoping that this works and I don't have to do any cutting before that time. Because of the problems I had with my ends this month I didn't do my henna treatment because I don't want to do too many things while I am getting my hair to heal. Not saying that henna is harming but remember my hair is sensitive to protein and henna can act like a protein treatment.

I remember someone had asked me about why mineral oil and petroleum oil etc. was not good for the hair and I could not remember at that time so I had to pulled my books out to see what was said. Come to find out what one of the problems is that they will not allow the moisture to penetrate the hair. From what I have been reading they are not good at all for our hair.

And as you can see petroleum oil is for your car and it is the first ingredient in grease for your hair. I used the picture of the baby oil just to show you how innocent it can be that we will grab things to put in our hair just because it is made for the baby, so it most be safe right?

Well just some things that came to my mind while I was waiting to fall back to sleep lol.
Love your hair and it will love you back.

What WORKS FOR YOU!!!

I love to think while I'm walking..... even if it is just pasting back and forth through out the house. Just the other day I took the grands out for our first fall walk this year, yeah those new meds are really working sometimes.. but that's another story.

This is one of our fall pictures that was taken during our thinking walk. When we got home I downloaded our pictures to the computer. I gave the boys a look as I started looking through the post on the hair forum to see what I missed while we were out. I came across a thread asking about if you thought you could make it to HL by then end of 2012. Of course I knew there was no way I would make it but a feeling and urge came over me to flatiron. After the boys went home I gave in to my whimms and washed and flat ironed my hair just to take a good look at my length, and to my surprise the damage was reveled. I wanted to cry because you know that meant losing more length added to what broke off from the damage ends. The scissors came out and when I was done 1/2 to 1 inch was removed around my whole head.

My first thought was I was going back to what I know was working for me. Well at least I will get a healthy start and it was caught before too much damage was done. Water? look like you were my friend from the very beginning. I was co washing everyday and doing the curly girl method and never had any problems and my hair was growing. But I got greedy and started chasing the faster growth. I tell you what else was a wake-up call, hearing MahoganyCurls talk about keeping it simple and doing what works for you with out jumping on everyone else bang wagon. Which is something I got caught up into. Hear listen for yourself.

Another thing I did was went chasing after this

argan oil. Everyone was talking so much about it I started looking into all the pricing for it. LOL I tell you like I said that dream. I remembered my ex-husband's wife was from Morocco and I knew she would have some so I gave her a call and I was right lol she had it. She was like sure you can have some. You don't think I went running. There was no way I was going to spend $20-$30 for an ounce on something that maybe cut. Well I have it and I do use it on my wet hair before I put the conditioner in for styling.

Right now I am sticking to my hair not liking products without cones. I am trying to use up my stash and my hair is still feeling dry by the end of the day after using cone-free conditioners. So until my hair tells me something different I will stick with my Mixed Chicks and my creamy conditioners. I am trying Tresemme tight now and I will have to tell you later what my hair thinks about it. I got the flawless curls, I know I said I was done with the spending, well I didn't have to pay for it because it was on sale at KMart and I used my reward points... LOL Great, uh???

Well ladies as I say and it is no lie, love your hair and it will love you back.

Hiding Those ENDS!!!

Plaits, plaits and more plaits....

After fighting with my wash n go's and not getting back to what was once a lovely relationship between hair and products I have decided if I want to make it to waist length by 2013 I need to give in to protecting my ends as much as possible. We are talking about less than a 1 1/2 years if I take into the year 2013. And only if one stays on the schedule you have setup for yourself can this be achieved. Lets face it, you can only hope and pray that it all works out to the plan that you've laid out because nothing is a given and nothing is for sure.

Seeing the wash n go... go from my everyday life and being my signature was a hard pill to swallow.

Can you see the TEARS??

But we are told over and over again that there is great reward for loving and babying your ends, to protect them from breakage. So girl ya.. just so there are no mishaps with all the trying this product and that product I just had to give in. Give in to a winter break, if I can last.. LOL because we all know me, my mind changes like the wind.

I am sticking with my stables as far as what I moisturize my hair with. Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Whipped Creme ends Hydration by Hairveda, and newly added
Dabur Vatika enriched coconut oil, oh oh don't let me forget Shea Butter and yes every last one of them are used all at one time on each strand.

I have talked about this in the past where to purchase the products that I use but I will add the websites for those who may have missed them. Like the castor oil is from www.ayurnaturalbeauty.com the whipped creme www.hairveda.com coconut oil from amazon the indian shop and last but not least shea butter is picked up from the old fashion street vendor lol.

I am trying my best not to do a length check until December because I will be very upset if I did not make my goal which is bra strap by the end of the year 2011. I don't use heat on my hair so length checks are done with my hair wet and loaded with conditioner to give that heavy feel for more stretch. That's all I have for now.

Ladies love your hair and it will love you back.

MIXED CHICKS REVIEW

And it keeps coming back and it keeps coming back.......

No matter how many other products that is tried in it's place old reliable keeps holding 1st place. Sulfates are no good for you... Silicons are no good for your hair. Maybe true for most people but for my hair,

for my hair my old reliable Mixed Chicks Product Line is what my hair craves. I tell you this was the fist product line that I tried once I learned the curly girl method and you know that old saying that "if it is not broke don't fix it"??? This was so true for me when it came to my hair and mixed chicks.
All of the drying that I was experiencing with some of the other products that I was trying just to have something to compare it with, it does not exist. My hair comes to life when it is deep conditioned and then the leave-in is applied. I leave it to air dry and then scrunch the crunch right out. The only time that I have to shampoo is maybe twice a month. I am going to say it's been over 2 1/2 yrs since I first discovered mixed chicks and it was not with great reviews on the hair boards that led me there either. Since I was never one to follow the Joneis this was just one of those normal things for me, go the opposite direction. I ordered, I tried, I fell in love. (LOL)

So why did I stray?? Well, how can you be sure if you have a mate if you have nothing else to be broken- hearted about?

My hair is soft, bouncy, shiny and growing. Even when co washing every single day it never failed me. So I just had to come in here and tell you all that just because something is working or not working for someone else and it seem like your sister hair is loving or hating what seems to be rich or not rich. Judge for yourself because you are a individual with your own personality and you owe it to your hair.

Keep loving your hair and it really will love you back.

DevaCurl AnGel Buzz Buzz buzz

DevaCurl AnGEL

This light hold moisturizing and defining gel dissolves instantly when applied to wet hair. As it dries, AnGEL forms a moisture-protective cast to enhance curls.

Well enhance my curls it did but I could not get past the drying affect it had on my hair after air-drying. As you know there was a product review on the Deva Curl line earlier this week. At that time AnGel was not included in my purchase. To make the system complete I ordered a trial size bottle to see if it would make a difference on my hair. I know that everyone's hair is different and react differently to each product which is why I will not put this line of products down or throw it under the bus.

I started out using low poo and condition one early this week as well as their leave in conditioner. I thought that my hair felt great and I was in love. As the days went on I started to notice that my hair was becoming dry. I started to apply a moisturizer to my wet hair first before applying the leave in but once dry it still felt kind of dry. Still I was not going to give up on this line yet, so adding the AnGel which is supposed to be their curl definer to my stash only seemed right.

The one thing I can say about this company is that their shipping cost is excellent and since they are only located in New York City it is overnight to Philadelphia PA.

Once I received AnGel in the mail my hair was washed again and I did the 3 step process as was directed on their site. My hair was left to air-dry and turned upside down and curls scrunched towards the scalp and released. What bounced down were beautiful curls and I believed that would continue throughout the day. As I put my hands through my hair I could tell that it was dry feeling as if I had used hairspray but not the hard feeling of hairspray.

Although this line of products did not work out for my hair does not mean I am advising no one else to try it out. All it means is that I am still on the hunt for a full product line that is compatible to my curls.

Please love your hair and it will love you back.

As always thanks for reading, peace and love!!!!!!!!!!!

Water Meets Oil

To come up with a way in which I could still wear my curls and not damage my ends the oil had to be brought out again. Everyone knows that I have no problem co washing my hair every single day but I don't want to damage my ends at the same time because I am trying to retain as much length as possible. How else would one get to hip length in just 5 yrs. I am coming up on my 3rd yr of growth from just 1/4" of hair on my head I am now just past arm pit length (APL). In order to meet my goals I will have to pamper my hair as much as possible. So on to this weeks regiment it meant doing something that I really dislike and that means having greasy hair but it is one or the other. Ponytails and buns or curls and if I want to wear the curls out I will have to coat my hair with oil to seal in the moisture. So these are the products I have been using this week. Water and apple cider vinegar mixture

+

as a spritz just in a spray bottle from the local dollar store. Then I apply to my hair to get it damp before applying the Jamaican Black Castor Oil to my scalp and massage it in. On my hair I place the coconut oil and finger it in real good and add the

Shea butter to seal in all that moisture. Once my hair is really moist I hold my hair upside down to scrunch the curls back in. Since I am doing the oil treatment I no longer plait my hair up at night because my hair would be so straight from all the oil in it but instead I pull it up on the top of my head and put a ponytail holder in and tie it up with my silk scarf. In the morning if I am not co washing I will take the spray bottle with the water and vinegar mixture and spritz my hair.

Awaiting to be added to the routine is the Dabur Vatika Coconut oil. When it arrives I will see if I want to replace what I am doing now, meaning the regular coconut oil for it. Or maybe I will just alternate.

So far my ends have been nice and soft and my hair is very shiny. It is all that I have been looking for in my curls. Even though on wash days I still use a curl definer it is no longer needed during the course of the week. Co washing does not wash all of the oil out of my hair which is a good thing because when using the curl definer I don't have to worry about not having enough moisture under it as to not dry out my hair.

I tell you, loving your hair is the only way to go and it will definitely love you back.

Count of The Day

Well everyone I am back with updates. I know it is not the end of the month but I have such good news that I had to share right away. I know I made a comment on how I made it to 10" which was great the real big news today is that I am counting at 12" today.

So I am off and running to the finish line........... That would be Hip ya!!!!

I am still applying JBCO on the scalp and hairveda whipped creme ends hydrations on the hair and doing the 3 plaits and pulling them up in the back and plaiting them together and tuck the ends inside and put my bendini clip for style and gel my baby hair in the front and that will be my all day style. The next day I would rinse my hair in the shower just with water and do the same thing every day. I have to say I look cute. I like this so much more than the ponytail. So I guess I am bra strap but not full and I am so scared to apply heat on my hair just to see it fly away in the wind for a day.

I think one day I will rollerset and then just wrap it until the curls fall out just to see how it hangs. But for now I am more than satisfied with how it looks when it is wet on my back and when I brush it out which I do only when wet. When curly and dry I never ever use a comb and brush.

Always love your hair and it will love you back.

HAIRVEDA Hairveda hairveda

Something that your tresses is thirsty for and something that is welling to quench your tresses thirst. You may use this product as a leave-in or just a daily creamy moisturizer.
Hairveda's WHIPPED CREME ENDS HYDRATION hydrates and softens with fruit oil and vegetal humectant. It will leave your hair so shiny and soft and will not make your curls sag nor stringy. This product is for your daily regi and it will not let you down.

This is something that has been apart of my daily routine for over 2 years now. What first started as a night treatment to braid my hair at night because I wanted to tuck my curls away, slowly moved to first place as the everything moisturizer. When my hair is wet and I don't want to use one of my hold curl products, Whipped creme ends hydration is what I will grab to apply to my wet hair as a leave-in and my curl definer. Once dry you would take your hands in a scrunch position towards the scalp with your head held over and then return your head upright for fuller curls. When I tell you that it is really loving my curls at that point there is not much left to say.

Of course each product works different on each set of hairs but I can tell you that for me the air drying process is shorter and my hair is much lighter. There are products for different looks when it comes to curl deference and I have not tried them all but I have tried enough to know what look I want on a given day.

I would have to give this a Image Detailmaking my way to my hip. Please as usual love your hair and it will love you back.

Thanks for reading, peace and love!!!!!!!

ALL DAY CHASING A COMMENT!!!!

Ok I have been all day long chasing after the comments.

Stats after stats and config after config and still didn't know what the problem was to fixing the comment section. I think I read myself to death with what the error was. I finally just kick internet explorer to the curb and got google chrome (www.google.com/chrome) When I say that I am so happy to say that I can post a comment on my page......... I now can post comments on hair care girly pages. Yes just say good-bye to internet explorer they have sewn it all up so no one can get in, not even you LOL

Now onto my hair today. I washed and conditioned it after I got a moment in to do so. And I am loving it. Still using the DevaCurl products and my hair felt thicker and lighter all at the same time. I also applied my
Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask 169-ounce Jar MOROCCANOIL®INTENSE HYDRATING MASK and when I tell you that my hair is soft this is like the best mask I have ever tried for my hair. This stays in my regi and for $30.00 yeah it stays for a min at least. LOL

So please if you want to leave me comments please do so by using another browser. Take it up with google and microsoft. What can I say.

Please keep loving your hair and it will love you back

Product Review Time

DevaCurl Low-Poo Cleanser DevaCurl One Condition DevaCurl B'Leave-In

I received my shampoo and conditioners today and I could not wait to jump in the shower to use them. I applied the Low-poo like normal and washed it out really good and I have to tell you that my hair was squeeky clean and then proceeded to apply the one condition, smooth it in through out my curls and detangled my hair and clipped it up while I finished up my shower. Once I rinsed it out my hair it was really soft to my surprise.

Once I dried my hair with my micro fiber towel I began to apply the B'leave-in to my hair. When I tell you that my hair is very soft and curly, that is what I mean. This will be my regi for the winter because I don't want to co wash everyday like I was doing in the summer time. Learning to do a week hair do now. So the Jamaican Black Castor Oil will not be used everynight like during the summer or my hair will have to be washed the next day.

So far so good on this product line. I will try to use Kinky Curly next time because I really want to compare the two to see which one stays.

CURLS ARE POPPIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter has just taken down a weave that she was using as a protective style to give her hair a rest for a min. I am so loving how her hair curls are looking these days. She is starting to get bored and wants to cut it into a bob. I really want her to leave it alone for a little while longer. I mean we have only been working on her hair since Feb of this year and she has gotten all this growth in that time. I can not wait to see what next yr will bring. Well enjoy.

RAKE AND SHAKE

I tried this method today and I have to tell you I am still amazed by how much body I have to my curls today. I mean they are always bouncy and soft but today it just seem to be something different. Of course I used the products I had here at home. I think I have more stretch too. I was going to use the eco styler gel but instead I used mixed chicks. I may try this product they are showing in the video but I have a lot of other things I need to use up first. I don't think I can buy anything this month lol. I have no space under my sink.

Please take the time to try it and let me know how you like it. I am all about quick and this is very quick. I also think it will work just fine with what ever you have in the house for setting your curls. Once your hair airdries just move your hands over the curls to take all the crunch out of each curl.

New HENNA DAY!!!!!!!

It was that time again. TIME TO HENNA!!!!! LOL

About 2 days ago I gave my mother her henna treatment and got her length check done. I wanted to share the results with my fellow bloggers. I really feel that the program we are following has done wonders for her hair. It is looking fab if I do say so myself. So much so that I want to show you some more pictures.

The picture is not doing justice for her hair color but it still is nice and her curls are poppin.

We are looking at almost APL( arm pit length). I cut her hair in the beginning of the year because it was damage from apl to shoulder length. But we are now growing strong healthy hair which has grown fast.
I hope you enjoy and there will be more to come.

My Day Look

Since I love fresh looking curls everyday co washing is a very important part of my day time regi. I co wash in the shower because it is so much easier. You can use any cheap conditioner but I like to use the deep conditioner that is part of the mixed chicks set. I may only have to shampoo maybe 2x a month. Once I co wash the leave in condtioner is applied and left to air dry. Since the leave in has a hold to it when it air dries there is a bit of a crunch.

The next step is to rub your hands over your curls to take all the stiffness out of the curl and you can even use a oil. I use a spray shine to soften up my curls and they get so full and bouncy. You can then style them how ever you like. Most times I wear mines loose with part in middle or on side.

I find that this style has not cause me any breakage at all. But one important thing I forgot to mention is I don't comb my hair at all. I make sure there are no tangles in it while it is wet with my fingers. This will elemenate any frizz.

I really hope these tips help you with your curly girl look.

BHRINGRAJ & ORANGE PEEL POWDER

It is two days before my son gets married. I have been playing around with hair styles that I wanted to wear tomorrow for the HENNA PARTY. I thought I was going to wear it up in my 3 plaits which I pull up and tuck the ends under and put nice combs in. But I have to tell you that the curls have won again lol.

I have decided that I would pamper my hair tonight. I am sitting in Bhringraj and Orange Peel powder.
Bhringraj is an ancient ayurvedic herb widely known for its effectiveness against hair ailments. In ayurveda, the herb is used for treating hair loss, improving hair texture, and to stop premature balding and graying and various skin allergies. Alopecia sufferers will also find bhringraj to be beneficial in promoting hair regrowth. Even without suffering any ailments, bhringraj aids in luxurious hair growth.

The properties in orange peels are primarily antioxidant and astringent, making orange peel powder a natural in helping to prevent pimples and acne as well as prevent premature aging and wrinkling. Using orange peel powder in a face mask helps to reduce shine from excess oil and remove dead skin cells. It also softens and promotes shiny hair.

I try to remember to apply this paste to my hair every week. This along with the henna regiment that I use gives my hair what is needed to keep it strong and promote growth.

I will wash this mixure out with a moisturizing conditioner and let it air dry. I will end up with soft shiny hair. And since it is night I will apply jamican black castor oil to my scalp and hairveda whipped creme ends hydration to my hair and tie it up for the night. I will co wash in the morning.

HENNA DAY!!!!!!

After spending the night in the hospital thinking I was having a stroke or a brain bleed. I was so releived when I was told that it was the machine but sad to hear that they could not find out why my lip and mouth was num. So once I got home and rested up I decided to treat myself because all I could think about that night in the hospital is that I didn't have the things I needed for my hair. 0 LOL

Because I had such emotional day I decided to henna my hair earlier than I said. I had taken my BAQ out of the freezer and waiting to thaw while a rest. I applied my henna on wet hair and because my hair has gotten longer I had to section my hair off with clips and do one side at a time. Twist it on top of my head and place 2 plastic caps on my hair followed by my silk beanie and silk bonnet scarf.

I will sit with the henna on my hair over night and then condition wash until it all comes out. Looking forward to a very nice shiny head of hair as always.

Talk About Making a Difference !!!!!!!

Since the beginning of the year I have been taking care of my mother and daughter's natural hair and showing them how they can have nice curly hair. It also gave me the chance to see what worked on which texture hair. This first picture is of my mother's hair when I first started with her henna treatments and showing her how to condition wash her hair. I was also using Bhringraj powder for thickness.

This the beginning of my daughter's journey as well. For the both of them I would do a apple cider vinergar rinse which would remove any build up as well and restore their ph balance. My daughter never thought her hair would curl because the products we started out with did not work for her even though they worked well for my mother and I. My mother and I hair is just about the same texture. We could use mixed chicks or gel and would be fine. My daughter learned that she could use the curly girl method and just leave in conditioner in her dripping wet hair and allowing it to air dry. We all use the no comb method.

And this is what their hair looks like to this date. My daughter is still using the conditioner for her wash n go and my mother uses mixed chicks and love it.
